I am giving the 4 paws rating only because the jacket suggests the book offers serious solutions to dog behavior problems. Nope, not in my opinion, but it DOES offer a seriously funny view of what goes on behind the scenes of a rescue group!
I was having a bad morning... Just out from the dentist's office, I stopped by the book store because I was not ready to return to work still drooling from the Novocaine. My job involves speach. I picked up this book, read one of the Dear Abby style letters, snickered over Randy's sharp whitted reply, and put the book back on the shelf. I was looking for something a bit more dog serious. Brick book stores typically lack in serious dog text, and I found myself returning to 'Don't Dump the Dog'. I read another of the letters, actually guffawed over this reply, likely spewing drool in the store and took the book to the checkout with a lopsided smile on my numb face.
A fun read, and especially if you are on the front lines of rescue. It has many of those answers you have wanted to scream at people trying to dump dogs on you, but didn't dare. (Or maybe you have!)
