Yet another beautifully written book by Nicole Wilde. Nicole combines her expertise in behavior modification with easy to follow guidelines, useful resources, and alternative remedies. This book will be extremely helpful to any owner of a dog with separation issues. Ian Dunbar, Founder of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers

As someone who (long ago) dealt first hand with a dog who had severe separation anxiety, I wish that way back then I'd had the information contained in Nicole Wilde's gentle and compassionate book, 'Don't Leave Me!' Holistic, thoughtful and clear, 'Don't Leave Me!' offers solid practical information for owners struggling with how best to help a dog suffering from separation anxiety. Wilde's own experience with S/A, combined with her professional expertise, is behind her understanding of all she discusses and recommends. Options range from time proven behavioral modification to psychotherapeutics to some promising new nutraceuticals and even pressure wraps, and how best to decide which combination of options may be most effective. Highly recommended, this book is a gift for those trying to help the dogs. - Suzanne Clothier, author, And Bones Would Rain from the Sky

Although this book is aimed at owners, professional dog trainers and behavior specialists will find a wealth of information and specific tricks and tips to share with their clients as well.

Still my Go-To recommended reading for my clients dealing with SA

Posted by Michelle Douglas on 25th Mar 2021

This is still the easiest-to-understand booklet for dog owners to have a quick reference for the components of a Separation Anxiety plan. If I am creating a behavior plan, to fill in the individual details, this is still my go-to recommended reading for my clients.

Don't Leave Me! by Nicole Wilde

Posted by Alexandra Bassett on 10th Oct 2019

I'm a separation anxiety specialist and was surprised by the vague and ineffective guidance put forth by this book. It will only serve to place readers on a path of disappointment and frustration since the essentials elements for turning this behavior around - training a dog to relax in response to their owner's departure routine - is never mentioned. People reading this book will go through the motions of trying to help their dog and end up feeling hopeless with the advice presented does not work. This book should not be put forth as a solution as it only represents Nicole Wilde's lack of clarity on how to solve this issue.
