Living with a dog who relentlessly scavenges food can be exhausting. Instead of enjoying relaxed walks with your dog, you are constantly scanning the environment for discarded food and feel frustrated as you fish something disgusting out of their mouth, yet again. The problem is that scavenging is a deep-rooted,natural behaviour, making it much more challenging to manage than other canine behaviours. But here is the good news!
Using the proven training protocol provided in this book helps you manage your dog’s scavenging behaviour in a kind, effective way - achieving long-term results without aversive training techniques. It's inclusive for everyone, no matter what your situation is! It’s successful with any dog, regardless of their age, breed, or history. Stressful walks will become a thing of the past, and you will find relief knowing your dog is safe from eating something harmful.
If this all sounds too good to be true, believe me, it isn’t! Once you start this training protocol, the only regret you will have is that you didn’t know about it sooner!
IN THIS BOOK YOU WILL LEARN:
• Why your dog loves to scavenge.
• Ways to prevent your dog from devouring food they come across outside.
• Fun training games to keep your dog motivated while they learn.
• How to teach your dog to cooperate with you when they find food.
• New emergency cues and how to apply them to real-life scenarios.
• How to make your walks more enjoyable again!

Perfect for the novice dog enthusiast
I love to read various authors and their take on approaches to train humans and their dogs. This is a great book for any novice handler . The instructions are precisely what I would have also recommended. For those looking for out of the box ideas or for those who have trained dogs in the past I did feel this book lacked some creativity. All in all a fantastic read and one I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great guide on the subject matter.

Thorough and detailed protocol
"Don't eat that" is a complete guide to teach your dog to avoid food on the ground. Easy and fun games and step to step exercises, set up for you and your dog to succeed. It is useful either you are a dog parent suffering from your dog's scavenging, or a force free dog trainer, who needs to find more ideas to help your clients. I totally recommend having this complete guide into your toolkit of knowledge and practical skills!

Practical with mini exercises and games
I've been waiting for a detailed book on scavenging habits for so long as classic exercises are no match for my boy's strong urge outside and I am so happy I could get my hands on this one! I wish this book was published sooner as this is full of good and practical info :) and would have saved me a lot of scares! My pup just avoided chicken feet on the street (YES! I know... city life!) thanks to the exercises from the book we've put in place. A good one for puppies or for ex-streeties to name a few cases.
