An in-depth analysis of the science behind stress in dogs

In The Stress Factor in Dogs, Dr. Kristina Spaulding explores what science has revealed about stress in dogs and other mammals and demonstrates how to effectively read scientific research in order to apply our acquired knowledge to the dogs in our lives. This thoroughly comprehensive book provides detailed insight on how stress affects the health and well-being of our dogs at all stages of development. • Examines which factors lead some animals to respond differently to stress than others
• Lays out techniques and tips for reducing stress and increasing resiliency in dogs

Kristina has a knack for making scientific research both interesting and accessible. She has collated and analyzed the results of literally hundreds of research studies to get at the most crucial information for people working with dogs. While many of the concepts she discusses are complex, she makes everything understandable. She even goes out of her way to tell us when the science doesn’t give a simple answer (or even any answer, in some cases)! A true educator, Kristina also takes the time to remind us that science is always developing and changing, so it’s important to regularly re-evaluate everything we think we know.
